Join the Race to Recycle Toothbrushes!

Attention parents, teachers and all you gardeners out there! Colgate is running a nationwide toothbrush recycling competition until the end of October 2018.

Nationwide, Aussie kids are invited to send in their used oral healthcare items for recycling. The top 5 schools with the biggest recycled collection will be awarded a community garden, as well as heaps of other gardening goodies!

Every year, tens of thousands of oral care products are thrown into landfill. Colgate’s mission is simple: Collect and upcycle as many oral care products as possible. Colgate has teamed up with Chemist Warehouse and TerraCycle to kickstart the movement and educate the community about recycling.

Between 23rd of March and 31t of October 2018, pre-primary and secondary schools are urged to collect oral care waste and send it to TerraCycle and give the products a second life!

Everything should get a second life. Including our gardens. The top 5 schools with the biggest recycled collection will be awarded a recycled community garden. The garden prize includes:

    • 3x Garden Beds
    • 2x Benches
    • 1x Rubbish Bin
    • 1x Sign
    • $500 voucher for plants and seeds

If you’re interested in the initiative, we encourage you to visit the TerraCycle website and join the competition. The website is packed with resources on getting your school started as well as a digital leaderboard to keep track of your progress.  Find out how your school is stacking up and use that competitive spirit to collect more oral care products!

    Good luck!
